Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead is a Holiday celebration in central and Southern Mexico during early November. They believe that the gates of Heaven are opened at midnight on Halloween, and the spirits of all the deceased children are allowed to reunite with their families for 24 hours. Then on November 2nd, the spirits of the adults come to enjoy the festivities that are made for them! So sugar skulls are meant to celebrate our loved ones that are deceased!
